Political commentator Candace Owens reportedly expanded her ongoing investigation into the alleged “Mormon Mafia” Monday after adding the 2005 documentary Mobsters and Mormons to what sources describe as an already extensive evidence file.
According to those familiar with the investigation, Owens identified several “highly suspicious” scenes depicting organized crime figures living among members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, calling the film “far more revealing than critics have been willing to admit.”
Investigators close to the case reportedly spent much of the afternoon pausing individual frames, highlighting dialogue, and drawing red string between multiple DVD cover images before concluding the film had likely been dismissed as a “comedy” to avoid attracting unwanted scrutiny.
At press time, Owens was reportedly attempting to determine whether The Singles Ward should also be entered into evidence.
