SALT LAKE CITY — The First Presidency has issued a reminder to Church members regarding the importance of observing the Word of Wisdom, following the release of a new line of Miller Lite branded Pringles.
While not officially naming the product, Church leadership emphasized that members should “avoid products and branding that may appear to promote substances contrary to revealed health standards.” The statement reiterated the importance of honoring both the letter and spirit of the Word of Wisdom, including avoiding the appearance of evil.
The new Pringles flavors, released in partnership with the beer company, have prompted pushback in Utah and Idaho, where several Latter-day Saint mothers have begun organizing informal boycotts. “I don’t want my kids grabbing a can that says ‘Miller Lite’ and thinking that’s normal,” one Utah County mom said in a Facebook group.
Local leaders have also encouraged families to “exercise discernment in the home” during the upcoming holiday season.
