In a stunning pivot from quiet wealth management to plastic prophet protection, the LDS Church’s $100 billion Ensign Peak fund has reportedly committed its full weight behind X user Lego Joseph Smith (@Mormonger), who now faces an intellectual property lawsuit from The LEGO Group.
The Denmark-based toy giant alleges that the brick-based depiction of the Prophet Joseph Smith—often seen bearing testimony and rebuking critics on social media—is an unauthorized use of their intellectual property. Church leaders, however, insist the figure constitutes “fair use for the building up of Zion.”
Sources confirm Church attorneys have filed an emergency motion to classify the Lego Joseph Smith minifig as “a modern-day seer, revelator, and building block of faith.”
While some members questioned the fund’s sudden liquidity move, a Church spokesperson responded, “We believe in supporting our defenders in all things, whether in person, in spirit, or in molded ABS plastic.”
