Salt Lake City MLB Expansion Team Reveals First Jersey Concept

Salt Lake City’s proposed MLB expansion team has unveiled its first jersey concept, and team officials say the design is meant to reflect “Utah values, baseball tradition, and the state’s long history of sending young men into unfamiliar cities wearing name tags.”

The uniform features ELDERS across the chest, a nod to the thousands of LDS missionaries who have represented Utah around the world. Team sources say the name tested especially well with local fans, many of whom immediately began debating whether starting pitchers should be referred to as “companions.”

Big League Utah officials emphasized the jersey is only an early concept and that no final team name has been selected. Other options reportedly under consideration include the Pioneers, the Seagulls, and one proposal simply labeled “The District.”

The club also confirmed that players traded midseason will still be allowed to tell reporters they were “transferred.”
